The Scottish Straw Workers had their first meeting of the year on the last Sunday of January, lots of plaiting chatting and planning was done as well as having coffee and cakes! What a lovely way to start the new year. 

The group was formed for anyone interested in straw work. Beginners are very welcome!  You don’t need to be in Scotland or be Scottish to be involved but all our meetings will be held here in Scotland.  We  meet on the last Sunday of each month 10am – 4pm in Kemnay Village Hall, Kemnay AB51 5SS.  Plans for the meetings are that we will have a mini workshop each day, teaching a new technique (the mini workshops will start at 11am), there will be time to work on your own projects, a sharing table where members bring along items that they think others might find interesting, sales tables where you can top up with supplies and so much more. There will be lots of help, support and ideas for any one who needs it. 
 
The cost for the day will be £10, tea, coffee and cakes are provided you just bring your packed lunch. There will be straw available for you to use and some basic tools but if you have a wee tool kit bring it along.
