If you would like to get started with this lovely heritage craft this heart kit is  perfect for a beginner.  The plait we use for this heart looks beautiful but is simple to achieve. 
I love the addition of the fruits, cinnamon sticks and and star anise, it makes it perfect to hang in your kitchen or to give as a gift.  The kit comes with ribbon but of course you could use your own ribbon to fit in with your colour scheme. Add a few drops of scented oil to the fruits to give a lovely smell to the finished piece.
 
To make the heart you will need a pair of craft scissors, a darning needle or other large eyed needle and some glue, I use a glue gun but other glues can work you just need a little more patience for them to dry, everything else is included.
 
The finished piece,  is 25cm x 12cm wide
