I have been out and about these past few month talking and demonstrating straw work and so many of you have said that you would like to take a beginner's class. So here's a great class to start with. I will show you the materials to use, where to buy it from and how to prepare it. We will talk about the tools you need (not many to start with) for the craft and we will then go on and make a Sampler. You will learn two or three different plaiting techniques and how to put them together simply to make a lovely piece to hang on your wall. Perfect for a beginner or someone who hasn't done straw work for a while. This online class will come to you on Zoom and will be recorded. You will receive a link to the recording the day after the class. You can use this link for as long as you would like. Materials Needed 15-20 plaiting straws, medium/thick thickness, straws should be dampened 1 florist stub wire 18 gauge 2 wire bag ties Scissors, craft scissors type Strong Thread Ribbon, 10mm width Glue gun and glue stick (optional) Kit will contain - All straws required for two of the designs Florist wire Strong Thread Ribbon 2 bag ties
