Taste of India?
June 16th 2026 : Lots of plaiting to learn in this one!
Service Description
Something a wee bit different for me. I was looking to design something that would fit on a narrow piece of wall in the house. I wanted it to have plenty of plaiting opportunities and this is what turned out. I get an Indian feel when I look at the finished design. Quite a few different plaits in the design, not difficult though, so anyone can have a go. I will also talk through the thought process when designing a piece so that you can start designing items just for you. You can work along with me, or you can just watch and after the workshop you will receive a recording of the class for you to play back as often as you want while you make your piece. June 16th 2026 | 7pm - 9pm BST Materials Required: Approx 50-60 medium thickness plaiting straws, dampened Florist wire, 18 gauge 25cm, 10" in length Straw Splitter, I used a 4 splint splitter Dog Comb or Spreuer tool Scissors Wire Cutters Strong Thread for tying Ruler Glue Gun and glue sticks (although you could tie the pieces in place) 1 length of straw thread (optional) Pin Board and Pins, can be a piece of polystyrene packing and dress makers pins If you book a kit it will contain all the straws required plus the florist wire.
