Tuesday 31st March, 2026, Making a Straw Seahorse and Jellyfish
Service Description
This is a fun class, some of you might have made a seahorse with me but I keep being asked to show it again so this time I have teamed it with a jellyfish. In this workshop we will work a lot with spirals, both 5 and 9 straw spirals and how to shape them to make different creatures also how to join straws in to the design. This class will be delivered via Zoom and will be recorded for you to look at as often as you want. Materials Needed 40-50 plaiting straws, fine/medium thickness, straws should be dampened 1 x 30cm florist wire 18 gauge 2 flat backed black beads 4mm diam Scissors, craft scissors type Strong Thread Straw splitter (6 or 4 fin) Any pieces of practice plait e.g. 2 straw plait (optional) container with water for keeping straw damp 20cm ish in length A spray bottle with water Glue gun and glue stick, a glue gel or PVA glue, these will be needed after the projects have dried Hanging thread which could be the strong thread we use or something a little thicker Kit will contain - All straws required Florist wire Beads for eyes
