Friday 9th October 1pm-4pm Saturday 10th October and Sunday 11th October 10am-4pm In Chapel of Garioch Hall, Inverurie, Aberdeenshire AB51 5HG I am excited to invite you to my local area to have a whole weekend of straw work! Situated right in the heart of the Garioch in Aberdeenshire with Bennachie as our backdrop. The market town of Inverurie is only 5 miles away. Lots of accommodation within a few miles so come and enjoy a relaxing weekend meeting new folk and working with straw. During this weekend we will explore the traditions and heritage behind the Corn Dolly, what they were used for and make some traditional pieces as well as exploring how to bring the craft up to date, using old traditions but giving it a modern spin. This weekend is suitable for all abilities, whether you have always wanted to learn the craft and didn’t know how to start or you have worked with straw for a while and need some inspiration and new projects. All your materials, tools etc. you will need will be provided. We will have tea and coffee at the hall, just bring your lunch and an enthusiasm to learn more about my wonderful craft. You can choose to come for the whole weekend or just one or two of the days. Prices include all materials needed for the projects.
